Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data CarStock collects, why we collect it, how it is stored, and how you can request deletion. It covers the CarStock mobile app for dealers and staff, and the public buyer-facing catalog pages on carstock.in.

Data we collect

Account information. Email address and phone number used to create and sign in to your CarStock account, and your name if you provide it.
Dealer and business information. Dealer or business name, location, contact details, and staff membership records for your dealer workspace.
Car listing data and photos. Car details you enter and photos you capture with the camera or upload from your photo library for your listings.
Usage events. Basic interaction events on public catalog pages, such as page views and listing interactions, used to show dealers how their stock pages perform.

Camera and photo access

The mobile app requests camera access to capture car photos and photo library access to upload existing car photos for your listings. Photos are used only for the listings you create. The app does not record audio.

How we use data

To create and secure your account and dealer workspace.
To publish the car listings you choose to make public on your dealer's catalog page.
To show dealers aggregate usage of their public catalog pages.
To operate, maintain, and improve the CarStock service, and to prevent fraud and abuse.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Where data is stored

CarStock data is stored with Supabase, our backend provider, which handles authentication, the database, and file storage for car photos. Access to dealer data is restricted with row-level security so accounts can only access data belonging to their own dealer workspace. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections.

What is public

Car listings you publish, including car details, photos, and your dealer's public contact information, are visible to anyone on your dealer's catalog page. Buyers who contact you through the catalog do so directly, for example via WhatsApp or a phone call; those conversations happen outside CarStock and are governed by those services' own policies.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from our account deletion page. We may retain limited records when required for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, abuse handling, or dispute resolution, limited to the purpose that requires retention.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
